Located in Marinez, it was John Muir's final home, a period that encompassed his rise in National prominance. His family moved into the house in 1890, and he lived there until his death in 1914.

Currently managed by the National Park Service, it is open to visitors Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., year round.

For those who make it this high, there is also a display detailing some of John Muir's involvements. Plus, if you manage to make it up the stairs shown to the right, there is a bell tower with a working bell that you can ring.
